Colors!

We've been working with Devyn on learning her colors for what seems like forever~ But she just couldn't seem to pick them up. For the longest time everything was "pink" and then everything was "blue" But she has finally gotten them down. This isn't the best video, but the best I have of her with her colors. She knows yellow, blue, red, green, pink, purple, orange and black. Not too bad for an almost 2 year old!

Playing Together

While having two munchkins can be tiring and stressful, they make everything worth it! They are so fun to watch... I love how they are playing together and entertaining each other more and more as they get older. I know they will be very close as they grow up together
Now that Caleb is an avid crawler, Devyn takes him on tours of the house. She is telling him where to go next! Ha! She always says, "Caleb, are you coming?" She is definitely the boss! :)

Where ever Caleb is sitting Devyn wants to be sitting right next to him! Most of the time it's so she can steal his toys.... but sometimes she likes to play with him or "show" him how to do things. Today you see her working ever so hard on drawing a portrait of Caleb- she has gotten into drawing pictures of the family

Everything and I meand EVERYTHING goes into this kids mouth!

Caleb is really growing up! At 6 month old he is 28 in. long (90%) and 17lbs 8 oz. (75%) He is doing all kinds of great things. He is doing an army style crawl around the room and lunging forward as he gets ready to crawl on all 4's. He just yesterday went from being on his belly to sitting up. He is simply on the go all the time!! He can rake his favorite toys closer to him so that he can play with them and he loves to pick things up off the ground. He smiles and laughs all the time and especially loves playing peek-a-boo!

He still does NOT like to sleep. He refuses to take naps on most day and will only sleep at night if someone is holding him. He still gets up in the middle of the night to eat- so needless to say Brandon and I are still gettting very little sleep. We have been trying to feed him cereal at night and some baby foods during the day- neither of which he likes. He makes this yucky face and spits them out!! So we will keep trying until he figures it out.

Beautiful Girl

"I know I'm not allowed to jump on the couch.... but I think I'll do it anyway..... I'm too cute to get into trouble!~" One second she is in her chair eating her raisins out of the box, I turn around to pick up Caleb and she is on the table with her raisins EVERY WHERE!

I no longer want to sit in my high chair.... I need the big people chairs!

Devyn is growing into quite the fiesty little toddler. She continues to talk better and better, she seems to learn new words and sentences every day! I love coming home to hear what she's going to tell me next. Her new favorite food is cereal- she asks for this at every meal. She also really enjoys cottage cheese and yogurt. She has also recently decided that mommy and daddy do not know what they are talking about. She always tells us no or points at us and says uh-un. She demands things from us and always tells us RIGHT NOW!! But of course, she is still our little sweet heart and does all kinds of great things too. Her favorite activities still including going outside to play and running around the house. Recently she has become a huge fan of coloring and of playing with our new kitten, Buckeye.

With his first pair of shoes on.... he's got little feet compared to Devyn- these are just size 2. Devyn's first pair of shoes were size 4!

Time Flies....

I just can't believe how fast time goes~ Caleb turns 6 months in a few days and he is already starting to crawl.... I'm not sure if I'm ready for 2 mobile ones!

4 months old!

Well, it's been a long time since I've given an update on how our little man is progressing... in fact in 6 days he will be 5 months old.... I can't even believe how fast it's going.

At 4 months old Caleb was quite the big boy weighing in at 15lb 10oz- 75%

and he was 26 3/4 in. long- 97%.

So as of right now we have two tall, well fed children :) Caleb certainly likes to eat! For a while he was taking 7-8 6oz. bottles everyday... which is like 42-48 oz. of milk each day!!! That is CRAZY babies his age are suppose to eat about 36 oz. each day. He has started to cut back a little and now he's eating about 36-42 oz. each day- this is a much more acceptable amount.... for a breast feeding mom- He'll be on formula much sooner than Devyn if he keeps this up :)

Since I last posted Caleb has done so much! A little before he turned 3 months he found his hands and I posted picks of him sucking his thumb... this he still loves and right now EVERYTHING is going in his mouth. The drooling has really kicked it.

About 3 1/2 months he rolled over from his back to his belly and 2 weeks later he was rolling over from his belly to his back. And about 2 days after he turned 4 months old he was rolling down the hall..... already on the move! Right now he's trying his best to learn to crawl- he pushes and pushes with those little legs, but he just can't seem to get himself going anywhere just yet.

We've been working on sitting up and he can sit for a short time unassisted. Some of Caleb's favorite things are swinging in his swing, watching TV (I know, bad mommy for letting him watch tv), getting hugs from his sister, playing peek-a-boo, and rubbing noses with mommy and daddy. Caleb is such a happy baby. He is always laughing and smiling. He gets so excited playing with his toys and he just laughs and laughs. Caleb also loves to reach out and grab things... especially your cheeks if your holding him up close to your face---and he's got quite the grip.

On the sleeping front we are still not doing very well. This kid just likes to eat too much! We always start the night out with him in his crib, but after he wakes up for his first night feeding, he's usually in our bed- or with us in the recliner- until the next feeding. This ensures maximum sleeping for everyone- unfortunately it's still not enough! I can't wait for him to start sleeping through the night on a consistant basis. We do get a few nights here and there where he'll sleep through... just not enough!

Well, I think that catches up on all the new things Caleb is doing and I'll try my best to keep updates more frequent! Enjoy his cutie pictures
